Sequim Technology & Media Fair, April 2nd, 2011The Sequim Technology and Media Fair is on track for Saturday, April 2nd 2011, at the Sequim High School from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Fair, organized and hosted by SPCUG and the Sequim H.S. Future Business Leaders of America, will consist of a full-day of computer and technology-related presentations conducted in the High School's computer classrooms and a space where vendors and hobbyists will be demonstrating their products, services and uses of technology. The presentations will include such topics as computers for seniors, how to set up a home network, computer and internet security, converting vhs tapes into dvds, the world of Mac devices, computer-assisted drawing, home videos and photo shows, fine tuning digital photographs with photo-editing software, how to set up a simple spreadsheet, producing personal or club newsletters, how to set up a web-based business, new gadgets and programs and social networking to name just a few. KSQM briefs SPCUG
Host of KSQM's morning show..."Mark in the Morning", Mark Schildknecht, former Chief Of Police and current host of the KSQM "Five-O Show" Robert "B-1" Spinks and Director and KSQM Station Manager, Jeff Bankston talked about the history of KSQM, the near future of this community radio station and big plans for the future, including new programs and music. Sequim High School faculty member Andrew Hosford holds the $300 donation that was presented by Sequim PC Users Group (SPCUG) President Jessica Burroughs and Vice President Tom Pitre. The money is for discretionary purchases related to the Digitools computer program for the school's business department. SPCUG is a non-profit, educational organization that supports community organizations and education in the Sequim community.
SPCUG donates $500 to Sequim High School energy program:
Tom Flanik, SPCUG Treasurer presents a check for $500 on January 21, 2010 to Mr. Bill Seabolt, Instructor of Engineering Technologies at Sequim High School to be used for support of energy related programs and materials.
